I just got an iPhone 15 with usb-c connector and need to replace my Shure MV88 mic I was using on my older iPhone. All I do is make vids on my phone at home mostly for my own personal use. Any suggestions for one with MV88 simplicity and would have a better sound quality than my phone mic?

Why not just get the USB c cable. According to the Sure web site It came with one.

The discontinued MV88 has a lightening connector that plugs straight into phone and didn't come with a cable unless there is a way of connecting that I don't know, which is very possible...like some kind of dual connector lightening/usb-c combo

So there are lighting female to USB -C male adaptors but most state "audio transfer" but I do not know if the MV 88 is outputting Audio or USB data to the lightning plug ? You might call Shure support and ask, because if it is audio, there are a number of USB female lighting to USB-C male adaptors on Amazon

Never mind. KevWind noticed it said "No audio" on the product I linked.

Revision OK just read the Sweetwater info for the MV88 and it says "Lightning connection transmits clear 24-bit/48kHz digital audio right to your device" (although it says transmits not transfer ) so if it were me I would still call Shure to clarify But if it is transferring Audio then something like this should work https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-USB-C-..._t1_B0936NK2WT

tks everyone...I contacted Shure yesterday and here's their reply
Thanks for contacting Shure. While no longer officially supported, it is possible that the MV88 may pass signal when using a Lightning to USB-C adapter, which Apple has introduced with the launch of the iPhone 15. However, if it does pass signal, you will not be able to use the MOTIV app to customize features and sound while using said adapter. The MV88+ comes with a USB-C cable to use directly and we do expect this mic to be fully compatible with iPhone 15 |
