Default Neck Carved

I've got the neck carved. It has a black wood bound Snakewood center strip and a Black Ebony heel cap:

Between the beveled cutaway and the elevated fretboard we get an increase in comfort, access and leverage when working the high frets.

Well Mark, you're clearly creating a masterpiece for your hundredth guitar. Such beautiful choices and appointments, can't wait to hear this one's voice.

Thanks rule18! It has a great tap tone so far which bodes well.

Default Sometimes a little says a lot

I just finished up a couple of the fine details for this guitar. As stated earlier I didn't want a lot of bling on my 100th guitar but, the neck needed a touch of color to keep up with the body on this guitar.

Sometimes, with proper placement, you can say a lot with very little:

With these in place the guitar is ready for finishing.

Default Finishing

The finishing process has begun so I image this thread will go quiet for awhile. I’ll be back posting here when I have a shiny version of my 100th guitar!

What a beautiful and tastefully done guitar. As pretty as it is now, I will be looking forward to seeing it finished. That fingerboard looks awesome.

Thanks NTS! I love the look of that Snakewood fretboard. It not only looks great but it is hard as nails, has few pores to collect crud and is less susceptible to heat and humidity than ebony.

Default First Gloss Coat

Here is are a couple pictures of the first gloss coat on the body of my 100th guitar:

I'm very happy with the color and the contrast in the grain!

No pictures of the top yet because after this finish is done I will french polish the top.
