Excellent news! I have been in the opposite direction to Rob, focusing on tenor banjo and mandolin in the last several months. We miss him over on Banjo Hangout.
Steve, I find plectrum style fascinating. I’m not a well practiced sight reader, so it’s not something I play; but I love the sound. I’m also fascinated by the evolution of popular music away from the banjo and to the guitar. There’s so much overlap: Plectrum banjo players also played the kind of arrangements common in plectrum guitar style, but about a decade earlier. Rob, of course, has demonstrated both styles. |
