Thanks K20C!, I personally like bling on occasion as long as it doesn’t affect the guitar’s response.
I like it when it is done with natural materials. I’m not too crazy about plastics or dyed material.

Woods, shell, and gem stone can cover a lot of ground color and texture wise.

I've been preparing spec sheets for the guitars I am bringing to the Woodstock Show. Here is the one for my 14 fret OM Penelope Guitar aka 100th Guitar:

I hope to see many of you at the show!

Thanks, Woodstock is coming up soon! I’ve been busy setting up for the show but I’ve been checking in on your guitar and am very pleased with the sound and playability. I look forward to seeing you again!

Default Final Prep

Just a week from Woodstock! Final touches are being completed. I'll do the final set up on my 100th Monday or Tuesday. Here it is still with the dummy saddle but everything else is in good shape:

I'm proud of my re-curve headstock design. It's an incredibly small improvement but it adds a subtle finished look that makes straight headstocks look a little unfinished.

The Scheller tuners are a much more obvious upgrade that come standard with my Green Mountain guitar series. They have multiple times less backlash at the tuner button than factory tuners. The worm shaft and string roller post both ride on sealed bearings which get rid of a lot of slop and make them extremely smooth. They will likely last multiple lifetimes. Plus, they are great looking with a large array of options.

This guitar comes with a Visesnut Premier Series metallic taupe flight case along with the soft padded travel cover.

I have a number of innovations built into this guitar. Being my 100th I took the opportunity to make this one of my few concept guitars.

See you at Woodstock!

“Salvaged Driftwood: Sound Board” Wow, learn something everyday. Have you done this before? I guess at the end of the day, a good piece of wood is a good piece of wood, no matter the origin. Mark, you build impeccable guitars, and I can only imagine they sound even better than they look! Also, I love the layout of your website.

Thanks for you comments BlueBowman. I have done a number of driftwood cedar tops. I love the colors, weight and strength of these tops. Here's a video from the guy I get many of them from which shows the process. Listen to the sound when he splits out the billets!

Well, how about that?! Not a bad way for wood to start out the journey in becoming a guitar. Very cool. Thanks for posting, Mark.

I thoroughly enjoyed that video Mark. So cool to see this amazing wood being reclaimed for a worthy purpose instead of rotting on the beach. Very cool!

Absolutely beautiful, stunning work.
Maybe after another 100 guitars you'll figure out what you're doing.
Congratulations on reaching 100! Keep up the fantastic work!

Absolutely stunning! A big Congratulations on being able to incorporate all of the designs elements you wanted.

I love that you include a soft case for the hard case. That brings less attention to the guitar, and protects the new case as well.

Can you share with us the Brand of that soft case & size?

It looks like the soft case cover that Visenut sells for their own guitars:

I just have to say, man, the 100th guitar was an absolute delight and exceeded my expectations at Woodstock. So glad to get to demo your work again and look forward to catching up at Artisan in April!
