Mine is a 2014 VW Sportwagen TDI. This was one of the countless VWs that were recalled due to their emissions scandal. Mine spent a couple of years in a massive lot in Michigan, waiting for the fix to make it legal.

Other than missing the panoramic moonroof, and having the 6-speed automatic transmission, it’s fully loaded. I got it used, for a song.

It’s the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven - a true joy to drive. Not to mention loads of room to carry just about everything I need. I can drive over 600 miles on a tank of diesel. Very little odor.

With only 50K miles on the odometer when I got it, I hope this will be the last car I ever need to buy.

As Andy stated, it can be a bit predictable. But with all of that torque, I can squeal the tires at nearly any speed.

I took it to show my ex-wife after I picked it up. She said, “That car is perfect for you.” And she sincerely meant it.

Lovely car. You've had it longer than I've had my Morgan (1986).
Respect.

1997 Land Rover Defender 90 since Nov. 1996......Great car....Got it specifically completely manual as right before I got a '96 Discovery that the dealership(s) could not repair electrical problems, so traded for Defender....It's been very reliable and a great way to exercise imbibition of the spine.

I heard back in 2015 that U.K. was outlawing Diesel engines? To improve air quality in small areas like Jersey, U.K.

Not for a while. I’m not really sold on this policy myself.

My daily is a 2017 Volvo XC60 T6 with Polestar. It replaced my Ford Edge after I was rear ended by a truck. Frankly, I probably liked the Edge better. This is a bit fancy for me and I feel the Ford had a better ride.

I also drive a 2005 Nissan 350z Anniversary model. 300HP and a really fun car to drive. I sometimes wish it was a convertible, but there are only so many days you can drive a convertible. I try to use it as a daily during the spring though fall, but I can't fit much gear in it. LOL.

2021 Rav4

We were paying for our son's auto leases since he was a senior in high school (3 cars, 3 year leases each) so now he's on his feet and paying for his own. Yay!

I keep telling my wife we can upgrade on the next car now, lol.

Truth is, the Rav4 we leased was the only one (SUV) in our price range available on the lot at the time. They had almost no cars available.

Right now a plain old 2016 Ford Edge. I’m on a waiting list for a 2023 redesigned Lexus RX Hybrid as I’m treating myself to something special for what may well be my last new vehicle purchase. If not the Lexus then a Porsche or MB or Jaguar. I plan to go out in style “vehicularly” speaking.

I’ve driven nothing but Honda’s since 1990. Accords or Pilots only. Today I drive a 2020 Acura MDX. Nice ride

Well, the Lambo for now . . . but I’ll dump it at soon as I can find a ‘51 Studebaker Champion in decent shape.

I've put a whole 2000 miles on this in the last year.
Not real economical in these times.
High performance exhaust, ditch the Cat converter. (country living)
Also have a Kia Forte for the day to day.

It’s not a powerful car but I love it. 73hp, 3 cylinders, 1 litre engine. Really economical, does over 50 miles to the gallon in practice and I can do a good 450 miles on a full tank without having to worry about running on fumes. Also cheap to insure, I was £650 for my first year for comprehensive insurance but had heard horror stories of £2000 - £3000 for certain car models.

I was a very nervous driver at first having passed my test at the relatively late age of 32 but I’m now starting to really enjoy driving except in very bad weather conditions.

My favourite feature is probably the Apple CarPlay. Great to be able to get maps on the central screen and I love being able to play albums by voice command through Spotify. I listened to John Prine’s The Tree of Forgiveness yesterday and found myself singing along. The reversing camera is great too.

I’m now in a job with good salary potential later on but I can’t see myself upgrading this car certainly not in the next five years. I wouldn’t like driving something bigger at the moment.

That is a neat vehicle, but would not do well on the interstates here in the U.S. nor would I care to try.

Foxo noted that *all* fossil-fuel cars are being phased out, not just diesel. In fact, a diesel with a properly working emission system is as clean as, if not cleaner than, a gas engine car on a per-mile basis.
