Will the venue management not provide a safer surface? It sounds to me like they could level the ground, or provide a platform/stage of some sort.

Well, unfortunately, they aren’t trying to hard to get musicians. Example: They usually have a tent/awning set up for me (the space is facing west- directly into the sun). But when I arrived last week, they said a vendor needed the tent -and that I could either play without it..or just not play. (It’s a 1/2 hour drive from my house.)
I did ask about figuring out some kind of platform, but that’s not happening.

I’m the only one to sign up (when they asked for musicians to play there), so...I guess everyone else knew something I didn’t. Lol

Yeah - even the *worst* farmer markets around here are paying $50 (plus tips/leftover produce) for several hours of playing. EZ-up awning is a must unless there is a permanent structure.
