Avalon Guitars and The Fretted Buffalo
I want to give a shout out to Bill at The Fretted Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. My experience of purchasing an Avalon A1-10C from Bill was beyond positive. We should be thankful that shops like The Fretted Buffalo and owners like Bill exist to mitigate the strange karma that can emanate from the big box guitar stores. From the variety of guitars hanging on the wall, to the proper temp and humidity in the shop, to the wonderful scents of the woods from the guitars, The Fretted Buffalo is what a guitar shop should be.
My experience with Bill was wonderful. His knowledge of Avalon Guitars and all other things Irish guitar is impeccable - I thought I knew a little about Avalon guitars - having owned one in the past - but Bill quickly and gracefully filled in the gaps of my knowledge. The transaction was smooth with no hang-ups or miscommunications which was much appreciated. Email communication was always on-point and response time was typically an hour or less. The Avalon arrived via UPS same day as Bill told me it would. Guitar was packed professionally/expertly with lots of padding and several stickers on the outside labelling the contents as fragile. As such, the Avalon arrived with no issues and no dings. Perfect! If you live in Buffalo or are visiting like me and my wife were this summer, I encourage you to include a trip to The Fretted Buffalo. If not, you can find The Fretted Buffalo where I first did . . . on Reverb and Facebook. Thanks Bill for a great Avalon . . . wish all guitar acquisitions could be so smooth and positive.

Raise your glass to Bill!
Ditto what other's say. He met me on a Sunday afternoon at his shop, 'splained some Irish guitar history, put 6 different guitars in my hands, listened critically, didn't push an agenda, etc.
Whether you buy or not, Bill's a great source of knowledge and inspiration.
