Default 2016 Masaki Sakurai Concert R Custom Crossover Baggs Lyric - Link to YouTube

Hi all,

Listing for sale a recent custom crossover Sakurai Concert R with a drop shoulder cutaway, narrower nut, and Baggs Lyric!

Masaki Sakurai trained under Masaru Kohno and has since developed his own designs and won numerous awards for his guitars. A crossover version of the Concert R is very rare, I'm not sure I've seen another one. If you have been excited by the sound and feel of Sakurai classical but had hoped for crossover specs, this is the one!

-48mm nut
-650mm scale
-Fret board radius - nearly flat, but a Sakurai design element is that the edges are slightly rounded. This provides a flat feel but with more comfort on the left hand.
-Cedar top
-Indian rosewood back and sides
-Drop shoulder cutaway - A really cool detail, it's like a compound cutaway in that the dropped shoulder line follows the heel!
-Baggs Lyric pickup
-Gotoh Lyre tuners - recent model with aluminum rollers
-Ships with lightweight and sturdy ProTec hard / soft case.

In very good / excellent condition with some marks in the top apparent if you look with light. Additional pictures are here on Google Drive.

GONE

Here's a link to a YouTube video I made a day or two ago for an interested party, figured I should just make it public: https://youtu.be/9sxyh2PQwNU

Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask any questions!

Back to the top for this beautiful crossover. Sounds excellent both unplugged and through the Baggs Lyric.

I have a video sample of it also, just ask me. Thanks.

How do you like / describe the amplified sound with the Baggs Lyric?

I think it reproduces the acoustic sound pretty well. I know it’s hard to capture on video but another forum member asked about the Lyric also so I made a short clip. Is that you Tom? Let me know if you’d like to see it.

Hi Daryl, just posting this info here for the forum as well even though we’ve talked already. The weight is approximately 3.8lbs and the finish lacquer.

Beautiful crossover / classical cutaway. Would love to see it to a good home, recent small flurry of inquiries has made me especially open to offers. Thanks for the interest.

My 1982 Sakurai guitar is really special - beautiful instrument, magical sound, a joy to play. This is a great guitar for someone who wants the sound and playability of a classical guitar combined with the specs of a crossover.

I had a Sakurai back in the 80s during a failed attempt to learn to play classical. I was all work and no practice then. The guitar, however, was a treasure. Would love to have this one, but can’t add such a nice guitar right now. GLWS
