Gibson - Bridge pearl button thickness???
Anyone know how thick these buttons are?
I know they are covering the hold down screws that are in addition to the glue.

"Standard" thickness for commercially purchased MOP dots, about 1/16" or so. They are installed "floating" on a bed of glue in the hole so that the dot sits flush with the bridge surface. Hence, dot thickness doesn't matter too much.

Great thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a plug almost - like than 1/8" or deeper.

As a matter of "standard" repair practice we never try to save those pearl dots when we want access to the screw heads beneath. Rather than damage surrounding wood, we simply drill a small hole near the center of the dots, stick in the point of an awl, and crack out the dots in chips. A new 1/4" dot fits right back in there and can be leveled neatly, showing no sign of "entry."
