How to Play SMOKE FROM A DISTANT FIRE - Sanford Townsend Band
Hi,
Starting to work on Smoke From a Distant Fire (Sanford Townsend Band) on acoustic guitar and would appreciate any guidance, videos, etc. that might help. Found the chords several places online but have been unable to find a good instructional video. Or maybe your own personal playing experience with this song. While introduction is awesome it's a bit out of my pay grade right now and would like to "acoustify" it (as I'm primarily a rhythm player). THANKS! |

Can't help you with a rhythm chart or tab, but that is a GREAT tune! I actually heard it at Trader Joe's the other day and nearly fell over...
Not a song you hear everyday...

I checked YouTube but there isn't much beyond bass covers and some live performance videos. You might have to just hammer away at this one while listening to the recording and following a good tab or chart if you found one.
Sometimes I get lucky and find a live performance by the artist that gives me enough visibility to the guitar playing to piece it together. Perhaps someone on AGF knows how to play it on acoustic and could send you a video of them playing the song with a focus or close-up on the guitar.
