Hey Glenn,

Great job! I first just saw ‘Free Fallin’ and thought, ‘Nah, boring, three chords’. And I play it often enough at the proverbial campfires to know.

But seeing it was you, I was curious. And you nailed it. Certainly a lot of John Mayer in it, but a lot of your take as well.

Great fun, thanks for sharing.

Did I mention flawless execution?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Jeremy!

Thank you! I'm glad you thought this came out okay.

And yes, the Santa Cruz OM/PW is a very nice guitar. Mine sounds better than it did originally because the top had to be refinished, so it got a little thinner during refinishing, adding a little bit more treble. To me, that was a big improvement. Before that I was not particularly enamored of this guitar. For me it was a huge stroke of luck that the refinishing turned it into a better balanced guitar.

Thank you Mike!

It's wonderful to get your reaction! I hope you are well!

I'm so glad you thought this rendition came out well. Your comment about "an ease about you" is interesting, because when I recorded this, I felt like I was pretty intensely involved in the performance. It took a lot of energy and attention and a lot of practice to get this even close to acceptable. But I have to admit that in watching the video, it's hard to see what's going on internally in my head. I do look reasonably relaxed. Maybe it's because I was fairly well practiced on this piece, who knows. I invested two weeks of practicing to get this ready for the recording, so that probably helped some.

In any event, I'm glad you feel that this came out well! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Mike!

Nice, professional video!

I know those high notes don't come as easily as they used to (or at all!), but I think you served the song well. Thanks.
