You're correct. We have two Eastman carved back jumbos in the house and have had 4 others. Eastman quality is hit or miss. Some of them are fantastic, and others can have issues. On the other hand, Larrivées build quality is flawless or virtually flawless, always.

My vote is on the Larrivee
A Larrivee L-09 for less than $1,100 is a good buy if the guitar is in good condition. For my money, having minimal experience with Eastman, I'd go for the Larrivee.

As long as you like the Larrivee fingerboard radius, this is a mismatch. The L-09 is a hell of a guitar.

On the other hand, let me know where that L-09 is and I'll save you the trouble of a decision. I'll buy the Larrivee and you can choose between the Eastmans. Problem solved!! Oh, and I'm serious about the Larrivee. I'd buy an excellent condition L-09 Rosewood for $1,100 without hesitation.
