Careful DT, between me and Juston we may need to make you an honorary chemical engineer, and that would pay havoc with your day job.

Colin’s an aphrodisiac chemist and scales up processes to make them from wood chips. I cut down old growth trees to make wood chips for his process. Totally renewable aphrodisiacs.

Ha ha, I know I love my job, but that's taking it too far.
But....maybe with Deft's Tung we could sell that winery concept?! Perhaps all we needed was a leetle beet of Fronch

Well, Colin's been working on a method to make wine from tree leaves. I guess he wants out of the aphrodisiac business. Tree leaf wine is the next big craze and we're selling shares of the company at bargain basement prices. If you want in, let me know.

Just a comment for those who may not know about blue spruce... it is as beautiful as the best Englemann you've ever seen - but goes far beyond Englemann's soft top end. With newer, decent strings you'll get a "tinkling bell" overtone that sweetens the whole tone.

In my experience it doesn't have quite the headroom of really good Adirondack, but it has a depth of tonality that leaves adi behind. I've had, and heard, Mike's builds with German, Italian, Swiss, as well as cedar and redwood, but every blue spruce topped Baranik has been special.

You won't see it much - blue spruce (from Colorado) doesn't frequently grow large enough for top sets, and many of those that are out there are too soft. Mike found - and bought - a good supply of really stiff sets a number of years ago. Juston's PX, my OM, several Meridians, and several others I've played and heard are fantastic.

Just one more reason that makes this guitar special!

Best,

Phil
