Larrivee OO's Should I buy one?
Thinking of buying a OO larrivee...
Can anyone give me the pros/cons... I like the 12 fret/scale length = 25.5"/nut width = 1.75"/ lower bout = 14"/upper bout = 10" Any other guitars I should consider that meet these specs??? Thanks for the help.... E-man...

Sure...they're great guitars. It took me about 3 or 4 years to find a Larrivee 00 that I wanted once I decided to get one. Ended up with a 00-70...and still wouldn't mind finding a nice mahogany model (00-50).
It should be easier to find one now...they have turned out a couple runs of 00s over the past two or three years. There are a number of other builders who make nice 00s...but you may end up spending more money than you will with Larrivee... Have you found one you're interested in or just beginning to look for one?

It really depends on what you are looking for. There are many clips on youtube of people playing Larrivee 00s to give you an idea of what they sound like. There are a lot of other companies making 00s at different price points that you could check out, Santa Cruz, Recording King, Martin, Huss & Dalton, Tanglewood, etc.
I have a a couple of Larrivee 00s and, obviously, think they are great. They sound fuller than the Parlors and are more comfortable to play than an OM. They are not in in the current Larrivee product line up so if you can find a used one in good shape go for it. They were all made in were made in North America if that matters to you. If you are looking for a comfortable, couchable , great sounding guitar and you can find one, I would go for it.

Those are very nice guitars with standard (long) scale length.
I love Jean Larrivee's hog guitars and personally would love a 00-50. I believe the Furch (Stonebridge) 00MSM is a killer 00 - it too has a long scale.

E-Man, do you have the opportunity to play one? If you like the Larrivee tone, buy it. They're great guitars, built either in Canada or the US depending upon the model.

I have a 1991 Brazilian rosewood 00 Larrivee. Specs are as you said except mine is a little narrower than 1-3/4. I love it.

If you can get your hands on a Larrivee Traditional 00 you won't be sorry. I owned two of them and sold one recently and I won't part with the other. A super guitar with nice appointments (slothead, herringbone rosette/purfling, pyramid bridge, premium woods, Larrivee excellent workmanship) it has a lot of presence (loud) for an 00. I use it to noodle on the couch but for a small guitar it's got "mucho mojo".
