Stephen Holst F Style Mandolin
Stephen Holst F style mandolin,
Carved maple back, sides, neck, carved spruce top, 1-1/8" nut, radiused fingerboard, 1-1/2" string spacing at the nut, K&K pickup installed by builder, ebony fingerboard, bridge, finger-rest I recently had a light fret level / dress done to cure a slight buzz on the G string pair, also had the fingerboard extension scooped to eliminate "pick-click" as the sweet spot is right over the extension. the mandolin plays / sounds great, I spoke to Stephen shortly after acquiring the mandolin, he remembered it, said he had originally built it for a Celtic mandolin player, the sound/tone is very clear, evenly balanced from low to highs the instrument is fairly loud, the K&K pickup produces a clean acoustic sound. I'm primarily a guitar player and have another mandolin (not as nice) that serves for what I need. $2300.00 plus shipping any questions, feel free to ask, or additional pictures, or look up Stephen Holst online about his instruments.
