Default Yamaha STAGEPAS 1K PA

New stick PA with smartphone control and a proper manual and specsheet!

They give the sensitivities for all inputs in all configurations. (Unlike all other brands)

It looks to be in competition with the likes of Bose Model 1s & 2, JBL EON ONE, RCF EVOX 8, etc in price and power ratings. It does seem to have more and better features. The one I particularly like is that you can link two units in stereo or mono and use all inputs on both units (10 in total). That I don't think is possible in any of its competitors.

Thanks for alerting us to a new product! Can always count on the AGFers for the latest! It seems like the main differentiating factor here is the digital mixer which you can control over the phone? The line array arrangement doesn't seem as good as Bose's and the weight and specs aren't anything special. Guess it has to sound fantastic to even make a dent in this market segment!

It's always great to have more choices. I saw one price at 999 euros, currently $1138. Ya never know until you hear it, but the one-knob EQ is a big turnoff to me. Maybe the remote capability gives you more control?

There are some other neat features. I don't think it'll sound as good as the other top guys in the space, because it looks like another feature play--but as suggested by a commenter in I think the Okie thread on a $500 budget, most audience members probably care a lot less about refined audio quality than most of us do.

Have these hit the market yet?

They're on GC for preorder. Looks like they'll ship out in mid October. At $1199 retail, I really want to play through one of the store demos before unboxing one at home.

Regardless of how this unit’s performance and quality turn out (although I’m hopeful toward both), it’s really cool to see line-array technology being developed more and more.

Also: what a slick promo video.

Thanks For This, Cuki! Yamaha has always been a Winner in whatever they do with the exception of a few hiccups in their initial 650-Twin motorcycles ca. 1969/1970. It was reported that the vibration-smoothing counterweight system let go on some bikes and grenaded the bottom-ends of these bikes. Other than that, Yamaha has always instilled confidence in the products I've bought from the company including an analog BBD Delay Line, digital keyboard, and a Yamaha LL-TA TransAcoustic guitar.

This looks like a great new system and not under powered like many that are in the 200-350 watt range.

My biggest beef is that they make them larger and more powerful but still offer limited inputs. I don't care about 1/8th ins. They should come with 4 quarter/xlr inputs to accommodate a duo without having to add a mixer.

That's my main beef with all of them. I don't care about remote mixing and bluetooth, just give me 4 REAL usable inputs that have proper gain levels and I would buy one. As it is, for me anyways, they add no real additional benefits over a high quality powered speaker and a mixer.

It feels like the manufacturers are somewhat out of touch with what people are using these products for. Every one of them has mixing boards that are lacking.

I heard and tried one at a recent Trade Show. Wasn't very impressed with sound and features. I'll be giving these a miss.

It looks likes a few GC stores have them.

Bluetooth wireless controller from iPad or Android integrates your music playlist right into the mixer controller!

When I can get a 15 or 20% coupon I'll be getting one.

Anyone else get a chance to try this out? I'm in the market for a new PA and this one has definitely caught my eye.

Looks promising in many ways. Mackie just released a very similar unit. I wonder how they sound in comparison?
