I saw this guitar before it went to finish. Absolutely gorgeous work, and I can say with confidence that Leo is one of the best of the best. You are going to be incredibly happy. Gotta say that I totally love his headstock design. So cool!

That one has haunted me ever since as well. I've played a ton of MDs since from his apprentices, and owned one. I'd love to play that one again in the light of all I've experienced since. For me, it still stands out as extra special but that could have been simply because it was the first MD type guitar I'd played. However, I suspect it's actually because Ervin builds his tops a touch lighter for that nth degree of response.

In any event, I very much hope you'll be delighted when yours arrives. Be sure to let us know.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve, i believe that was the one. The orchestra quality and the extended frequencies on both end of the spectrum was what stood-out for me! The MD i played from Leo also had these special qualities. I will be sure to post some recordings when i receive the guitar!

That is a superb MD fit for a king... even if it is an "OM" king

This one is certainly fit for an "Om" King.

I saw this earlier today. Note that I've played an MD in Euro/Wenge in the past from Leo--that guitar was a year old when I played the older one 6 months ago. That one wasn't bad. This one is brand spanking new and I like the sound of this one better. (Which I told Leo as well)

I think it'll open up well in a way that should complement the focus of the Wenge. (Which BTW looks even better than the photos. This Wenge is really gorgeous) This new MD also has a nice overtone shimmer on the high end that should pair nicely with the bass as it expands/opens.

A nice and very balanced sound. As you strum down from strings 6 through 1, the sound is emphasized in that order to my ears--but it's an extremely balanced MD and any differences are quite subtle. It's a fingerstyle guitar that still begs for a flatpick to take advantage of the volume of an MD. I think it's got some good versatility and will be a joy for years to come.

You'll certainly enjoy this baby when you get it soon.
