Default X10 came up for sale on reverb

I have no interest in the outcome. Just thought this might be interesting.

Interesting. The X10 is not on my radar, so I've never priced out the options. No idea if that asking price is realistic or wildly optimistic. Perhaps used prices are high right now because of limited availability. It sure is pretty though....

Considering that the only custom option appears to be the paint trim, I'm inclined to second 'wildly optimistic'.

I hope people considering these are at least doing some basic price research - especially as it seems there are a few sellers out there who aren't

It's gotta be the golden Celtic filigree! I'm surprised they aren't asking more because I'm sure it enhances the tone.

That's gotta be it...they used pure gold leaf for the designs. I apologize.

Ditto.

Resale on Emerald Guitars is outstanding, fancy electronics and gold filigree not so much.

That’s a standard Level 2 X10 setup. Might be deemed as ‘fancy’ by some, but according to the shipping videos, most of these leave the factory with at least Level 2, many with Level 3.

I’d agree with you on the gold, though. It’s rare to be able to realize resale value for cosmetic enhancements which were clearly personal to the original purchaser.

For the record, a brand new X10 with Level 2 electronics and hard case can be ordered for $2450 + shipping.

Aah, I hadn’t spotted that. The listing mentions the Krivo and the Ghost piezo saddles. I wonder if one (the Krivo) might have been added after the fact, with a separate volume control?

My X10 Level 2 has the same controls on the side, but only one jack - you can use a TRS cable to control the pickups separately, running a Y-cable to two different amps/PA. Looks to me like someone added the second jack to run two regular guitar cords instead of a TRS; with a separate volume control in the soundhole. Just guessing, from the appearance.
