My answer would be the one that's available. I've had Shubbs and Kysers both over the years. Kysers work just fine for me. What can I say, they're cheap, work real good, and last a long time (other than the many that seem to walk off when I'm not looking).

I hope I'm not breaking any rules here, but I have 2 or 3 of the Thalia I'd let go of at a good price. PM me if interested. Ever since I sprung for a Shubb I've never looked back.

G7th Heritage...only one I've used for the past 4+ years. Wonderfully made, light, adapts to any radius. Quite pleased with it!

Off Topic here, but I actually used this method to repair the turn signal stalk on old MG back in the day. 😁

Simplest is always best in my book, so for me it is the Shubb. For quick changes on stage however, I do use the Kyser. But the Shubb is always handy if I need it.

Likewise. I’m a Shubb guy, pure and simple.

By the way, Shubb just came out with a capo plated with a gold-titanium alloy that has the gleam of pure gold but with great durability. They call it their C1g capo, and it goes beautifully with guitars that have gold tuners.

the cheapest Kyser copy on ebay.

I bought a bunch of them 10 years ago, one for each case and have never had an issue.

BUT

a dunlop capo has the option of taking a craft knife to it and slotting the padding thats SUPPOSED to go on the back of the neck so it becomes a split capo when its put on the wrong way round......

Which Shubb is the most appropriate for an OM guitar, the 12-string one? Because the C1 does not pick up all the strings well

I used Shubb capos for years, was never unhappy with them, and just accepted that sometimes I'd need to retune slightly, not a big deal. Since switching to yoke style capos (G7th Heritage and Elliot) I've never had an issue with tuning at all. They may be pricier but you can always keep an eye out for sales or second hand ones.

THIS ^^

I emailed them when my Newport snapped in two, they responded quickly and asked If I could send a photo showing it was indeed broken.

The sent me a new one.

it took a few weeks, as they are in UK, but they took care of it.

In the meanwhile, as you wait, just pickup a Kyser or planet Waves NS.

Shubb.

Simple. Small footprint. Adjustable. Customizable. Not spring-loaded. Not a paper weight.

Light, easy to adjust, excellent fit on all my guitars. Super low profile is easier to maneuver around than anything else I have found. And CHEAP! Yay

May need a bit of gaffers tape on the back if using on a very slim neck. And a bit to cover the pins holding it together.

Easy to remove a bit of rubber to make your own custom 5 string capo for drop D or other tunings.

Won't clip to the headstock, but pockets have been invented!

Try one yourself. I have a passel of em.

Happy picking

Paul
