+1 for Paige (6- and 12-string models).

Of my three (G7th, NS Pro and Shubb), the Shubb gets the most use. Tried Elliot/Paige yoke-types but can't get on with them-far too fiddly, and the Kyser 'Death Grip' thing doesn't work for me either. I have an illogical craving for the old Hamilton; probably nostalgia-driven.

My favorite is the Mackenzie-Elliott capo because it is small, light and doesn't change the tuning of my guitar. But that won't help you if you think the Shubb takes too long to remove.

I'm back to the Shubb I started with. The cheap Paige worked ok, but I have had to fiddle with every G7 I've had including the art3 and Heritage to get all 6 strings clean.

The capo I reach for most often is my Planet Wave NS. So easy to use, low profile and works.

My overall favorite is Shubb. Of the spring loaded types, my favorite is Kyser.

Default What capo is your favorite?

My two Elliott’s are my favorites. I’ve had them for 14 years and they work fabulously with my two Wingerts. I tend to use a G7th Heritage on my Kramer and that works well with that guitar. I prefer yoke style capos but always have a Shubb handy no matter what and recently bought one of their rose gold models. Did I need another capo? Nope, but it sure is pretty on my Alvarez parlor. : - ))
Best,
Jayne

I've got a bunch of G7ths but I've decided my fav is the Victor Dunlop. If it was good enough for John,..

I really like the Thalia capos. The are, by far, the best I've used.

Thumbs up

Thalia capo. A thoughtful friend gave me as a gift.

I recently bough a G7 Heritage, and it is the best I have used so far. It's lightweight, keeps the guitar in tune, and because it is compressing from the center, I don't have any buzz on any strings.

I have other capos such as G7 Performance, Thalia (nice, but heavy) and a couple of other spring types, but nothing is as classy or effective as the Heritage IMHO.
