Default What capo is your favorite?

What capo is your favorite? My G7th Performance 2's just broke. It won't hold in place by keeping the tension there anymore. I was wondering what you use and no I don't want to go back to the G7th Performance 2 or even 3 after what happened.

Well, I was going to say G7th Performance 3, because that really is my favourite.

However, you should try reaching out to G7th support - they have an excellent reputation for looking after their customers.

In the meantime, you can’t go wrong with a good old Shubb. And I defy you to break it

Shubb. Works great. Durable. Cheap.

Thanks guys, the reason why I won't go Shubb is because it takes a extra couple seconds to pop one on and off. I prefer a quick and easy clamp. How does this go? https://www.amazon.com/DAddario-Tri-...dp/B008BPI3AA/

The Ellliot. Expensive and just better. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

The D’Addario is a really nice capo too, and one of the ones I own.

But, really - are you that busy that you can’t spare a couple of seconds? The Shubb is a classic for very good reasons.

Thalia capos. Easy to use with customize pads for your particular guitar radius and looks beautiful as well.

The best value on a good yoke style capo is a Barry Collins capo. $68 delivered and very similar to an Elliott that costs 3x as much.

My favorite is my Shubb but I have times when I can't get it on or off as quickly as needed, so it isn't always the one I use. For speed, Kaiser has my vote.

Best,
PJ

I’ll take the extra couple seconds with a Shubb over pulling the strings sharp with a Kyser-style spring-loaded capo.

So where, all of a sudden, has this concept of Speed Capo Changing come from?

Are there audiences who threaten bad things if you’re not ready for the next tune in 12.5 seconds?

I have a couple of Shubbs, a couple of D’Addarios, and a G7th Performance 3. I can’t change a single one of them without using both hands and taking some time.

Maybe I’m just inept - or maybe I recognize the fact that a mechanical device just cannot perform magic.

They all have their quirks. And none of it is that important.
