Collings make some of the best looking sunbursts. I normally like the "more light, less dark" sunburst (and the Collings I've seen with that are my favorites, aesthetically) but even the "more dark, less light" variant, which I'm not partial to, look fantastic when Collings does them.

Your friend has one of the newly released CJ45T's? There are only about half dozen of them in stores at this point.

The CJ45T looks and sounds (in the few clips out there) like a winner. I’m interested in and excited to hear the reviews as more and more get out into the hands of players. I’m a huge fan of the T Series and think it has changed the tonal palette of Collings guitars to a warmer and looser sound that I really enjoy.

This is a thread about how much I’m looking forward to getting a new Collings. And I’ve mentioned how much I like my current Collings. So I think I’ll survive that “Collingsy sound.” Thanks for the warning, though. Very kind of you to be so concerned about my ears...

your welcome ...survive we all will as I took nothing away from the guitar...sounds like a Collings .... peace be with you, Reverend...

You would think that if you have J45 in your name, you would make some nod to the Gibson sound like a good Kopp does. Or the way your coming Edmonds D-18 nods toward vintage Martin tonally. To my ears Collings did not do this. They kept a very Collings tonal palette which should excite you

Appreciate the firsthand report. So few of these are in the wild right now firsthand info from players is rare. I’m more a fan of Collings’ Traditional series than other models. To my ears they have the typical Collings balance and clear note separation while warming up the overall tone a bit. They’ve made some adjustments to the Traditional builds since my 2017 D1AT rolled off the production line. All have been well received. So I have every expectation of loving the CJ-45T. But I won’t really know until it’s in my lap and we’ve had a chance to spend some quality time together...

Well, when I preordered this beauty last week all CME could tell me was that “rumor has it” their CJ-45Ts will be shipped “later this month or early May.” So I double checked with Mark at Collings and he now tells me CME will get their first one (which I have dibs on) “in about a month.” Meaning the wait just got a bit longer…

I'm sure the wait will be worth it ... just for those perfectly aligned tuner bushings!
