Default Guitar pick story #94: The G string breaker

I had a young Lady today tell me that she played guitar and even played in a band. In fact we both have Taylor 414s...hers a newer cut away, and mine an older full body. I gave her a pick and asked if she had any stories about herself and guitars. She thought a minute and said the only thing she could think of was G strings. It seems she frequently breaks The G string on her guitars. Enough that the guys in her band laugh about it.
So I was wondering, which strings do most people break most often? What about you guys?
(And yes, I know there will be a bunch of dumb jokes about a girl with a broken G string)

I used to break the high E often when I started playing but I bet I haven't broke a string in 15 years.

With Martin Titanium, I broke an A string, a low E, and most of the others. Seldom break strings with any other string.

To try and keep it as clean as possible, I have seen the nut crack at the g string.

I have never broken an acoustic guitar string, not through playing anyway. I seem to remember I had an A string react badly to a locking tuner and just break at the post once while turning up, but I don't think that counts.

I've broken a couple of high E 9's on an electric when I was a kid

I don’t recall the last time I broke a string during play - certainly not during the past thirty years or so. I loathe the sound of guitars with old, past-their-best strings, and I change my strings when they start to go dull-sounding, so I guess that’s why I don’t break them.

A couple of times, it's the G string that broke. No other strings broke.

About 20 years ago or longer, most of the strings that broke then, was the thinnest E string.

I’ve broken many B and E strings during string changes on one particular guitar until I filed smooth the nut grooves of those strings.
