I think I may have found my new favorite pick!
I was in a local music store today, killing time, when I spotted a pack of Primetone small triangle 1.4mm picks. I have .96mm TD primetones and have mixed feelings about them. I asked the store manager If I could try them out and I am highly impressed! I like them as much as my Wegen 1.2 Bluegrass picks and better than my BC TD50! I’m REALLY digging the small triangle shape too!! I do believe I may have found my new favorite pick!! The best part is 3 picks are only $8.77 with tax!!!

I have the same one that I bought for mandolin and quite liked, for guitar though they’re just a bit overkill for the sound I am going for.

I went on a quest to find a new favorite pick a few years ago and settled on the large triangle Primetone 1.4's. Less than 6 bucks for a three pack at Sweetwater.

You got my interest. Just ordered a 1.0mm 3-pack from Sweetwater for $5 with free shipping. At that price it's worth a try.

Primetones are wonderful for sure... I enjoy the 1.0 teardrop and the 1.3 small triangle. I've also recently come to like the Ultex 1.0, and the Hawk casein 1.2 Tonebird 5 too. But my fav overall, especially amplified at my shows, are the BC TAD-50/1.25. I have an EML 1.5 casein pick, but 1.5 is just a bit too thick and thus sounds a bit less articulate.

For everyday performance I always use my Blue Chip picks - TAD40 and TAD50.
Just enough mass and just enough "feedback" into thumb and finger. I was given some of the "primetones" when I bought my Waterloo in 2016. They are too inert for me, I still have one of each type but have given away the rest. Well done for Dunlop trying to emulate BCs but really not anything like vespal. During 2107/8 I experiments with trying to improve Dunlop ultex & tortex 1.14 m/m and D'Andrea Pro-plec 1.5 and Fender extra heavies. They ll need to be polished, bevelled and repolished and maybe have some Wegen style hole grips. The Tortex are easiest to improve, the Ultex hard to do but good ersults, D'Andrea and Fender - celluloid so can melt. https://youtu.be/OM4rnxziq_c

Checked old order history at the usual online places and that's been my pick for just about a year now. I had used the semi-round 1.3mm ones for a while, but switched to these. Got a friend hooked on the 1.3mm standard [grip] too .

I really like the Primetone picks too. My favorite is the 1.4mm Large Triangle. Wegen Bluegrass picks are another favorite. Either one of those gets most of the playing time.

I tried Primetone picks earlier this year and they won me over. I had always liked a bit of flex in my picks, especially for acoustic guitar playing. The Primetone Standard .88 has a lot less flex than I was used to but the tone I get from them is much better than what I got from my nylon .88 picks. I now use the same Primetone Standard .88 for both acoustic and electric guitar. I previously used nylon because they wear well but I haven't worn out a Primetone yet.
