The Bose T1 (and undoubtedly the T4s) are great little boxes - I was asked to play Xmas carols last week for a Zoom party, and using the T1 for 2 guitars and 2 mics, going out usb into my laptop for Zoom broadcast sounded great. I had been using it to run mics thru 3 channels then out to the PA , with my guitar plugged into the 4th, and output thru the aux - but it got put aside for a while -

I’ve since bought a Zoom L12, so I could handle 4 mics, 3 instruments ins, and still output to Zoom via USB while also recording each channel raw onto the internal SD card - it has the ability to output 5 different monitor mixes, which really attracted me (plus the 20% off holiday code!) - it’s pretty sweet -

Bulkier, but lot's of I/O, EQ and FX options + doubles as an audio interface.
Hi Argonaut! I'm interested in hearing about what you might have ended up with for a pedalboard mixer(?). I have also been on the lookout for a mini-mixer with 3 or 4 channels for a similar purpose, and have been weighing the pros and cons of each of the currently available choices.

The Stompmix 4 gets mixed reviews here on the AGF in terms of sound quality and requires line level on two of the inputs, the Bose T1 doesn't have pan or high pass features, the Bose T4S doesn't have the preamp-out feature that the Bose T1 had, etc. I guess the QSC Touchmix would do the trick, but that's quite an expensive choice. The Bose stuff is pretty expensive as well; and overall, most people recommend the Felix or Sunnaudio preamp blenders over the Bose for sound quality, so personally I would buy an MS-2 before I bought a Bose T4S.

What did you decide on?

Hi DC, I ended up getting the X4 a couple of weeks ago. I've been spending some time with it and overall I'm quite satisfied. Build quality seems great and you get the hang of how to use it quite quickly. Quite astonishing what they managed to fit feature-wise into this sturdy and beautiful little box. The FX and EQ options are all quite good and are sufficient for my needs, the added routing options for the outs also provide flexibility. I can run a guitar pickup going through an external preamp and some pedals directly into the line input without too much noise or having to raise the level. Those inputs can also serve as a 'return' input for wet/dry FX mixing. Recently I noticed that I had to crank the input gain on the 2 preamp inputs to maximum in order to get the input levels around -12. This was the case with a DPA 4099 d:vote and a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup (w/ built-in mini preamp). So that's a bit of a negative for me, not entirely sure if I'm doing anything wrong, I think not. Finally another disadvantage for me is that the AUX signal does not include the reverb. This limits the flexibility for having to separate mixes to having one 'wet' (main) and one dry (aux).

Hope this helps, good luck with the decision!

Same with mine. However I know nothing that comes close with the same form factor.

What does it profit a man to gain the world of mixing if he loses his gain? Lol

Thanks for the update! I'm always on the lookout for new mini-mixers; still waffling myself, but it seems that the Stompmix is hitting pretty close to the mark. Glad to hear it's working out for you!

Digital mixers are pretty hard to beat for the features they offer in a small footprint.

On a related note, another interesting pedal is the Baggs Voiceprint, not for it's mixing capabilities, but for it's EQ. That option alone makes me want to buy one; add to that the Voiceprint IRs and it's small size, and it seems to be a nice
addition to your mini-mixer as a way to tailor the sound of a third input.

Cheers!
