Both my parents are from Vietnam, the south during the war. I was born here. I'd like to say thanks because if it weren't for you, my parents wouldn't have escaped to the US and I possibly wouldn't be here today.

Retired human "plumber" i.e.urologist.

The occasional person I've met over the years would state:"How can you do THAT?).

It was a very rewarding and stimulating career involving many interesting surgical procedures as well as office based consultations.

In medical circles , we have the reputation of being jovial and laid back specialists.

I'm a pro bono domestic engineer.

OK, that was partly in jest. 16 years ago I left a job in mortgage financing as a clerk in a bank to become a stay at home dad. I am a Navy veteran who worked in aviation for a time before going back to school for computer aided graphic design with a focus on architecture and animation. Afterwards I amended my skill set to do typesetting in the print sector before trying my hand at web design. Along the way I got an MCSE certification (now long since expired) for web server administration. I tried to briefly get back into that field while balancing raising toddlers but time management is not one of my strengths and when my main client decided he didn't want to pay for my services that were based on a verbal agreement I decided to leave that behind. In the past 16 years I have found that life has led me down the path of advocacy as my eldest has special needs and required more caretaking that I can provide. I play guitar to keep my mental health on track but as my son became larger I found that I needed to learn how to not only keep the house clean but learn to fix things too. Now I'm a quasi plumber/appliance repairman/carpenter. My interest in luthery came about after some of my guitars required repairs.
