Default Jock O'Hazeldean - Live performance

I was thrilled to play the Argenta Acoustic Music Series in Little Rock this past week, a wonderful monthly concert series featuring fingerstyle guitar, along with Teja Gerken.

Here's a solo tune from me, my arrangement of Jock O'Hazeldean, with video captured from our iphones:

Thanks, everyone. Yes, that's my Hamblin Grand Concert. It's been my go-to guitar for amplified settings.

That was breathtaking, Doug. I don’t think I’ve heard of prettier piece or amplified guitar tone in a very long time. I also caught the duet with Teja on Little Martha on your YouTube. Great stuff!

Takes me back to a long time ago. See Corries version below from 1970s, using their Combolins (own designed instruments). Saw them a few times - wonderful talent.

I have heard you play "Jock O'Hazeldean" before, both in videos and If I remember correctly, on one of your recordings. I love your arrangement, Doug!

It's wonderful to hear this song again in your live performance. And it's different to hear your guitar through your live rig. It sounds very nice!

Well done!

Default Jock O'Hazeldean - Live performance

That was great . As I watching and listening I noticed the beautiful side wood of the guitar and then I got a glimpse of the head stock and I said out loud is that an F’n Olson ? Lmao 🤣

Now you have to know me to see the humor in my comment . Beautiful playing and beautiful guitars . The fan fret looked nice as well . [emoji4]

Yes, that's my Hamblin, with an unusual (flat-sawn?) Brazilian Rosewood b/s:

HamblinBack1.jpg

The fan fret seen beside me is a Tony Yamamoto 12-fret fan fretted model. Huge body - 16 or 17 inches. Not mine, borrowed for that show.

Ah , there wasn’t a great shot of the headstock but I thought I seen a O ‘ish type symbol. I’m not expert on other signs/ hints of it’s origin . Lol

Beautiful guitar .
