Russell, I think you need to have Steve deliver this guitar to you in Sept. at B.I.G. so we can all see it and hear it in person, we won't touch it and I can lock it up in a sealed vault for you when you leave the room to keep the drool off of it! What do you think, ROAD TRIP!!!! (well after you cross the Pacific).

Thanks, Tom, maybe so! Is that an invitation? (The “I” is for “invitational,” eh?) I would love to show it off and hear all of you play it, and Stephen will be adding a drool-proof special finish, so drool wipes right off. No vault for this instrument!
Tom, your message of endorsement led to my first Kinnaird guitar!

That is great. I am so glad about the endorsement. The "I" stands for International as we always have some guests or performers from Europe. This year we have Max Spohn from Germany and a fellow AGFer from Italy coming. However, for you, we can make the "I" stand for invitational and I invite you to come and meet Steve and Ryan in person as well as Nemoman and Cigarfan too as they will both be coming!

This looks like a beautiful guitar in the works!.
I got the opportunity to talk to Mr. Kinnaird at the Artisan show, and one of our topics was Port Orford cedar. This guitar should be a stunner.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Bill!
It was a pleasure chatting with you in PA, and very nice to see your beautiful work up close.

Steve

Thanks, Jay. No doubt you had a hand in this somewhere up the line!

Mine didn’t start beating again until both sides were done.
Good to be back in the land of the living.

Russell, just a gorgeous guitar. The wood alone from front to back is remarkably beautiful. Can’t wait to see this continue to evolve into what I’m sure will be nothing short of stunning!!

Here is a customized soundport in progress that Steve is creating for me. It’s an image of a ‘honu,’ or turtle, in old Hawaiian petroglyph style.
Steve cleverly (and bravely) combined the image with a soundport.
The honu or turtle is my animal totem (since there are no bears in Hawai’i!).

That is really cool Russell. That is what these customized guitars are all about, a little (maybe not so little job) touch like this to make it mean more to you than just a build. Great job Steve!
