Default MJ Franks L-00 modified

After buying too many guitars I decided to have Mike Franks build one. I wanted a bit of inlay, but subtle. I wanted walnut, satin finish. And a small guitar and so on. As Goldilocks would say, “this is just right.”

It’s an L-00 shape with lighter OM style bracing, a European spruce top, and tortoise binding. The workmanship and sound are both perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing, and Mike is great to work with. He was so much help in the process at understanding what I wanted and in making helpful suggestions.

So here are some pictures. IMG_9322.jpgIMG_9328.jpgIMG_9323.jpgIMG_9324.jpgIMG_9326.jpgIMG_9330.jpgIMG_9327.jpgIMG_9321.jpg

The hummingbird captures the nature of a real one. They are small and fleeting in their appearances. Never flashy but a treasure to behold.

Great! Enjoy and love it. Did Mike do the inlay too?

Mike builds a fine traditional guitar. Congratulations! I'm digging the backstrip.
