Wow, Joe - that is one seriously, stunning guitar! No one is going to accuse you of having bad taste.

I hope you enjoy it for years to come

Joe,

Your guitar is coming together nicely. I love Ray's style.

Kindly,

It's been said before and it will get said again; that set of Brazilian is one of the very best sets I've seen. Indeed, I'm pretty sure it may be THE best set I've seen...ever.

Ray clearly does very crisp work indeed; Can't wait to hear it.

Cheers,
Steve

That's a very good looking and unusual end graft, I guess this means that you will not have a jack pin at this position, then how are you going to fit a PU? what body binding is that?

Best,

Keyshore
This guitar was supposed to have a cutaway but I ultimately changed my mind again to no cutaway -- same as the Olson.

I do not want pickups on my guitars. I want my instruments to be timeless so no piece of technology will appear on them.

As for the binding, I haven't asked Ray but I think it's rosewood.

Thanks for checking out this thread!

Perhaps not bad taste but I've been accused of being excessive a number of times...

Thank you for your supportive words!

Thanks Steve!

You and I both have builds that are almost there...

Joe - there's a huge lump missing out of the fretboard.

Better get Ray to dump some filler in there...!

cheers,
Steve

My thoughts exactly. I was going to use this guitar to play the solo in Hotel California but I think some of the notes might be missing now...

Indeed, it's truely magical what these skilled luthiers can do with their hands.

The neck looks like a big block of wood at this stage, but no doubt after a few deft touches it will all be streamlined for sure.

BTW Joe, what style neck does Ray favor, bolt on or the traditional dove tailed?

The back braces look really cool through the sound hole

And I am going say it again (Till I am blue in the face!), "That an incredible piece of art AKA guitar!"

Best,

Keyshore

The neck in the picture is a bolt on.
