Sad Acoustic Solos
I've been into sad stuff lately. Ironic, but that's what makes me happy. I find some of Michael Hedges' compositions works have a good bit of sadness in them. Can you all suggest some specific artists or pieces that are have sad, melancholy type feel.

Classic country music. George Jones leads the parade. Allen Jackson’s Bluegrass Album has two song that make me weep. I can’t play them.

apologies in advance, I wouldn't post this unless I thought the solo was 100% relevant here.
give it a listen and I think you'll agree.

Supposedly the song that “inspired “ “Hotel California“ The Eagles were actually touring with Tull as a backup band and this was occasionally being performed by Tull live. It was on an earlier album of theirs called “Stand up” released in 1969. Mysteriously, in 1977 and out of nowhere...“On a dark desert highway.... You can look this up.

And Paul, you beat me to it; Nick Drake was all about melancholy...but I enjoy him so.

I really like this version better but they’re both good.
This song could have easily been written by Carole King.
