PSA: Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 3 for $12.99 at GC
Yes, that is three sets for $12.99 at Guitar Center, light gauge only, phosphor bronze. These sell I understand for $12.99 for one set at many retailers.
They had been available at Musician's Friend but seem sold out. I prefer medium gauge in a untreated finish but these seem to get good reviews here generally and I just couldn't pass up that price. I was going to order more but I already have 11 sets available for my six acoustics and I just changed strings on most of them. Anyway .... Admins, feel free to delee if this violates anything. I have no connection to either GC or MF.

Admins, please delete this post as I think they are also now sold out at Guitar Center. My order went through but I never received the customary confirmation email so I'm guessing I won't be getting them.

Try doing the same order from MF. Same good price and free shipping. I ordered, got confirmation and a notice that it may not ship immediately but my CC will not be charged until it does. Whats to lose?

I looked before and after I made my order at Guitar Center and did not see that offer, only the same strings at the full $12.99 price. If you have a link, please post it.

I am so confused ... and I'm the guy who started this post.
I just went back to Musician's Friend and I still can not find this offer. Then I went back to Guitar Center and lo and behold, the strings were there and were "in stock." However when I went to place another order a big red banner came up that said the strings were unavailable. Can somebody here (OK, I'm being sarcastic) tell me how an item can be both "in stock" and also "unavailable."? Do you folks remember back a few months ago when Guitar Center (or maybe it was Musician's Friend) was offering a Martin "X" series guitar for something like $330 to $350? I remember quite a few here ordered it and the orders seemed to be going through ... but then the buyers later got an email cancelling the order and saying it was out of stock? I know that was then and this is now and these mistakes do happen ... but it still is frustrating. Am I getting the strings or not? Still no confirmation email which as I said makes me think I won't be getting them. However I would have been much more disappointed if I had ordered that Martin "X" guitar and was told the order was cancelled.

I finally found a backdoor way to get the strings at MF and it had the cavet about it being backordered. I "placed" the order and got a note that the item had been removed from my cart ... after I gave MF my credit card info ... becvause it was unavailable. So I will either get: Two sets of the order or six sets of strings One set of the order, or three sets of strings. Nothing.
