A very cool build, Tom--really enjoying following along on this one!

Love that rosette. Typical Doerr awesomeness! Can’t wait to see how it comes out.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I'm enjoying building this MD quite a bit. Sometimes as a builder it's nice to get a change of pace.

Today I was able to get the bracing started on the top and back. I prefer to use hot hide glue for glueing the braces on. Hide glue use to be intimidating for me to use but once I started using hide glue it really is pretty easy to use. Now I'm so use to it it's like second nature and I absolutely love it.

Default Productive week

Had a very productive week this week. I got all the braces glued on the back and top. Voiced and carved the top and back bracing. Glued the top and back to the sides. Finished binding the guitar today. Was also able to put the veneer on the bevel. Tomorrow I'll clean up the body and start on the neck.

Even your hands look bespoke! Have you thought about a career in luthier hand modeling?

Seriously, such class. Love the build.

Too funny Juston! Even with bad cuticles and bitten fingernails? You made me lol on that one. Glad you're enjoying the build.

Would be nice if you have a pic with a full flat frontal view so we can see the shape of the Mod D in its full glory

I think you mean meticulously and lovingly sculpted using old world and time-tested dental techniques. Each nail and cuticle is carefully maintained for optimal luthierie results and, therefore, optimal tone.

Ummm yes that's right that's what I do. I gotta say that today I went and took a pic of me scraping bindings and now I'm just to self conscience to post pics with hands in them lol 😂
