Default An overlooked cannon.

With all the (deserved) hype on Emerald guitars, their innovative shape and sound ports, and with the increasing trend toward 000 guitars or even smaller, few people are currently talking of a classic carbon fiber guitar that was here since the beginning of the carbon fiber guitars development. A good, traditional dreadnought.
Many many years ago, I owned the first CA and Rainsong dreads. At that time, Rainsongs were pure carbon and sounded very chimey with super long sustain, CAs had lower volume but a warmer tone. Both had a 11/16 neck.
Many years have passed by, and it shows. I just received from Ted at La Guitar Sales a brand new Rainsong Hybrid H-DR1100N2, i.e.: a dreadnought made with a composite carbon fiber and fiber glass material including the sound board, a 1.75 wide neck at the nut, only acoustic.
This guitar is a masterpiece. It is warm, loud, very easy to play, and extremely well made up to the latest detail. Some Martin fans will disagree with me, but I owned in the past several Martin dreadnoughts, and believe me if a Martin sounded like this Rainsong sounds, it would be a higher end Martin for sure. Cherry on the cake, although the Hybrid series is not as affordable as the Concert Hybrid series, it is quite close and basically costs almost less than the Classic all CF Rainsong models.
One of the best kept secret in the carbon fiber guitars world.

My CH RainSongs are plenty loud when played...very quiet when not.

If these days I was willing to put my arm around any dreadnought, the H-DR would be my first choice. I've often thought an H-DR1100N2 with Sharks and Ablam sound hole would be a great LA Guitar Sales custom!

For those of you with both, which is louder, the Rainsong Hybrid H-DR1100N2 or the X30?

Big congrats Gerardo! BTW the secret might be out because several Rainsong dealers have told me that since it's introduction ten years ago the hybrid models have become a best seller for them. Now let's see some pics!

I Have been waiting for Ted to do a custom CH-PA12 fretter. Just like my Shorty Limited Edition.

I have played a bunch of CF guitars, and I always go back to Rainsong. They have a special recipe that just can't be beat!
