Default If you were/are a fan of the The Office, check this out.

If you don't like the show, don't "get it," or are one of those people who are like "The UK version was better," save it for another day.

They are auctioning off props from the show. Check it out!

I didn't see any of Michael's stuff or his likeness on the page. One of the top 3 tv characters of all time - what gives? (Tempted to buy some Dwight stuff)

For the record - both UK and US versions were great.
I have the complete DVD box set of the US version.

Never really got into either show. But...I loved the Ricky Gervais Podcast and the HBO animated thing that was spawned by it.

If you haven't seen it you may like a show called 'The Detectorists' written and starring Mackenzie Crook who played Gareth in the UK version 'The Office'.

It's a very gentle, British folksy humor.... with some swearing.
My wife and I love it.

Cool and I'm a fan, but you have to be a super fan because that stuff will not go for cheap. I'd rather buy a guitar for that money.

There's quite a few items from Michael.

That is SO cool.

I can't even watch I Love Lucie because cringe humor really makes me SO uncomfortable.

But both versions of The Office are brilliant, even if I could never watch more than a few minutes at a time. I just could not take it. LOL

Many UK series are remade from the American market and end up lame-o. But The Office is a major exception. They did a great job truly reinventing it while keeping the same cringe-worthy spine.

And Steve Carell has a lot to do with that success. He was why I wanted the Daily Show back in the day. I was SO happy for him, after years of restraint (by him or or his agent) that he found such a choice project. And they surrounded him with nearly perfect supporting players. All I have to do is think about certain moments and I cringe. LOL.

Thanks. I was a fan of the US show. I'll check out the website.

How about Dwight's guitar? Or Andy's banjo?

My wife and I love it.

Bruce,
I watched all 3 seasons of Detectorists at least twice. It’s been my favorite show in years. The final episode made me teary eyed. It’s just so clever in tying all loose ends.

I agree. If folk like The Office, either UK or US, the Detectorists will tickle the same fancy.

I heard there was a German version of the Office, wherein the characters came to work and spent their time actually doing their jobs?

Where can I watch this? I love the British shows. The Inbetweeners is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen.

Jojobean,
The first two seasons are on Netflix now but fixing to vanish. They’re also on Prime. Season 3 is apparently on neither right now.

I’m thinking I watched on Acorn. But not sure.

Edit—all 3 seasons and Xmas special are on Acorn. Acorn costs 5 bucks a month, but I think you get a month for free. Yvonne and I spend a lot of time in a house with no cable and no reception. She and I enjoy British mysteries and comedies. For us, it’s 5 bucks well spent. I watch on Roku.

Detectorists seasons 1 and 2 are free with amazon prime.

I'll put in a word for Black Books, about a somewhat eccentric bookshop owner, twice voted "Best Situation Comedy" by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. All three seasons free with prime (these are BBC "seasons", six episodes each).
