Yeah, he's mastered its nuances. Here's the back being braced.

This is going to be a stunning guitar, for sure. Keep the pictures coming, Juston!

Not to derail your build thread, amigo, but it's conspiracy theories such as this that make the Internet such a dangerous place. I've heard that this guy Steve actually plays guitars in real life - whatever that means - but jeez, why can't people just keep their weird ideas to themselves?

I actually read on the internet that the internet can be a suitable substitute for first-hand experience.

Some pics of the back and a super close-up of the miter at the neck block. Super precise.

Is sycamore maple another name for the species commonly referred to as German maple?

In short, yes...

Sycamore Maple, European Sycamore, European Maple, Bosnian Maple, German Maple etc. are all different common names for the same tree Acer pseudoplatanus.

Wow look at how nice that corner came out with the perfect alignment of the grain lines etc.

I have already posted how I love my Maple OM, I think once people hear a luthier built Maple they will realize that all the bad stuff they heard about it was false!

Every once in a while I think about this very sentiment, and see a gorgeous guitar like this in the making, and I can see a luthier-built maple making its way to me.

Juston, this really looks great!

I figured. You're an encyclopedia, my friend! Always learning something new.

I've played a fair number of maple backed guitars in the last several years and I don't have a clue where that weird stereotype of it being bright/brash came from. I've never heard that.

I've played a few of John's maple guitars, and the tone is incredible. The 000-12 I played at Schoenberg had everyone in the shop gushing. It sold within a couple of weeks if memory serves.

I feel cheated. I didn't get close-ups of the neck block on my maple Circa build. I think I need to commission another to give John a chance to make it right...

I love seeing that maple!!!!!
