Congratulations! That is a fantastic guitar. I played one a few weeks ago at a local shop and it was hands down the best sounding guitar in the room.

I love the shell logo inlay instead of the foil. The maple binding is lovely.

It sounded fantastic when I flatpicked it in standard and absolutely delicious fingerstyle in DADGAD.

Thanks for the comparison. One thing I neglected to mention is the OM 33SR I’m thinking about is a deep body model.

I have an OM made by MJ Franks that sounds very much like what you are describing in your new Martin.....

If they sound anything alike you are in for a wonderful adventure with your New Martin.

A deep body OM furch would be an amazing guitar! I'm sure you'll love it!

I live in Austin and have been meaning to to take a trip to the hearts home Acoustics.

Is it a pretty cool destination for a few hours type thing?

Do they have any vintage Martin's? Or other vintage in general?

Great guitars. I've played the OMs and 000s both - that size guitar is on my short list, if I get a window between house repairs, car repairs, and whatever other squirrel runs across my lawn...

I wish they were more widely available (to try/buy) but the price point keeps them out of all but one (downtown) local GC and Fuller's, and then they've only ever had one or the other of the 000-14 size in stock (i.e., not both at the same time). Only managed to find both in places like Willcutt and Gruhn when I was on a road trip of sorts last summer, and then I was just starting to look.

Bet that martin sounds incredible. I had a furch OM33SR on loan for a while and it was phenomenal, what a guitar! so I can only imagine how good the martin must be!
