Default SOLD off site. Collings D1AV 2008

This is my favorite non-vintage dreadnought that I've ever played. I love this guitar and it has suited me quite well in my acoustic roots quartet. It really cuts through the mix nicely with a mandolin and fiddle involved. It's really nicely balanced throughout the register with a clear and articulate low end.

This particular guitar has the vintage neck with a 1 3/4" nut width and has a 2 3/8" string spacing and is Adirondack spruce over mahogany. It was recently set up at Telluride Music Co and plays like a dream. Only selling to fund a 12-fret dread.

It has a few dings from its prior owner but nothing structural and no cracks whatsoever. Minor fret wear but lots of life in the frets before needing attention. Has a K&K pure mini installed and comes in a Crossrock case. Has been in non-smoking homes its whole life.

Now asking $4100 shipped to CONUS. This is my first time posting in AGF so let me know if I’m missing anything. Thanks!

Might want to call Collings to verify the specs…Varnish finished models always indicate such on the interior label, which I’m not seeing on yours.

The “V” in “D1AV”, for a 2008 model, would indicate that it has the Vintage Now neck profile.

Hey Matt. I appreciate the info though it turns out we're both wrong. I was told by a very trusted shop who is a Collings dealer that the V was for varnish finish. I just got off the phone with Collings and on the V is for the vintage neck, while VN is for vintage now. He looked up the serial number and confirmed this to be the case. I'll edit my post and price to reflect this info. Thanks for looking out.

For 2008 and 2009 models, "V" is Vintage Now. After that, they switched to "VN" for Vintage Now and "V" for Vintage.

The Vintage neck did not exist in 2008.

Default Vintage

Hey Matt. I just got off the phone with Collings again and they did do the vintage necks in 2008 but there wasn't clear differentiation in the labeling. I was told this is definitely the vintage neck as they have never made the vintage now with a 2 3/8" spacing. The two guys I chatted with both said this was definitely the case.

Interesting - different from what I was told last time I inquired, but thanks for clarifying!
