Default Loudbox mini charge crackles when powered on?

Fishman customer service is M-F and today's Sat, so hopefully someone here can help.

When I powered it up today, it just made a loud staticky crackling. Unplugged all cables, including power-no change.

None of the knobs have any effect, other than master volume, which acts as you'd expect (0 is quiet, max is very loud crackling.)

Thoughts? How screwed am I?

My Loudbox Mini makes an odd groaning sound when I power it on, not dependent on the gain setting. Weird.

But if yours has no crackling with volume on zero, I think we have the solution for you: turn down the gain before hitting power. It's no different from the way we always set gain before power-up.

However, I have no idea if your condition is normal for the amp. I'll be following to see what the hive mind knows.

Unfortunately no knobs have any effect, including the gain knobs. Only master volume.

Are you saying that it crackles when you switch it on and then you get no signal at all from the amp even with the volume all the way up?

It crackles constantly, not as a result of any pot being turned. If the master volume is maxed, it crackles super loud. If the master volume is low, it crackles quietly. If I walk away and come back in an hour, it crackles the whole time I'm gone. It's like a radio tuned in between stations.

I'd definitely contact Fishman's customer service. There are tons of stories on here about how good they are to deal with. I've never experienced anything like you're experiencing.
