I don't know about Mr. Kimsey, but that sounds like it might not be a bad idea!

Default I might be the odd one out...

but I actually still prefer the older version (meaning the 2016) of the D28.

I have to clarify that I own the 2016 version of the D28 and I just tried the latest 2017 D28 from the store today.

I went online to find out the opinions of others and realized that I may be the odd one out... I truly believe (in my opinion) that the 2016 D28 sounds sweeter althought less focus but in my ears, more like what I envision the D28 to be.

Glad you’ve got one you like. I’ve owned both and prefer the 2017...but D-28s of all flavors are great guitars.
