After playing 18-28-35 which i think they are awesome legendery guitars,but I really recommend you to add more money and go for the - HD28v - . For my opinion its the best Martin iv ever heard & play.
That guitar giving you all you need: sweet mellow tone when finger picked gently, and great boost sound when strummed hard, and never get into distortion.

A Collings D1 or D2h (mainly for the other contributor that hates me mentioning Collings!

the HD-28 (rosewood 1-11/16 nut) and the new D-18 (mahogany 1-3/4 nut) complement each other perfectly - make sure the nut size suits your hand

sold a D-35 - found it too dark
