I made the bindings today, but won't be willing to bend them till the glue is truly dry, probably tomorrow. I usually would have made them in advance of needing them so I could get right to bending and installing. This kind of protocol issue is why I am building a spec guitar to get ready for working for others, Dennis Lair, as it happens. This is two guitars worth of Amazon RW with B/flamed maple/B 10/30/10 purflings: |

Me too! Although bigger guitars are not what I typically go for, I can't wait to try this one.

Getting toward the end of Tuesday 12/17 and I've got the top binding on my FT-16 Penngrove. I may get the first of 4 pieces of back binding on today, if I keep going.
Not all my cutaway point miters come out this well. |

I like that rosette. It honors tradition while evincing a bit of modern - which you try to do with many of your guitars. Cool.

Bruce, I looked through the posts on this large guitar and didn't see any reference to the sides. Just wondering if you adjust the side depth on a larger model like this ?

Oh man, that looks fine! If you sell it before B.I.G.(er), bring it anyway! I'm sure Tom wouldn't mind.

While I would happily take any reasonable number of orders for a similar guitar before BIG(er) in late March, this guitar is not available until the show. Of course it is also true that it will barely be done by then. My finishing process is nearly 2 months long!

Bruce, it's so good to see you back at it! That BIG(er) is looking great!

Bruce,
I played a couple of your guitars at Schoenberg's, in Tiburon last week. Now I know why people say the good things they say about your instruments. Jim |

The last couple of days saw me make a neck for the new guitar. My friend 2/5/1 pointed out that the actual nomenclature for this project is: FT-16C-JB/2 Penngrove. Or: Flat Top 16" wide Cutaway w 1/2 my normal MultiScale, informally a Penngrove. Only the US Army and LMIi seem to challenge the complexity of my Nomenclature. Here's the neck to body connection from 2 angles: |
