Default New Stehr GA Wild EIR/LS Redwood Top

New Pics 01/06/2011

Hi All,
I thought I'd share my new build from Joel Stehr with you all. There's a bit of a back story to this one. When I had commissioned my first guitar from Joel about 2 years ago I had originally intended for him to build it with the woods that are being used in this guitar which I had purchased myself about 2 and a half years ago. But when I saw the myrtle that Joel was working with I decided to have him build my small jumbo with Myrtle/Carpathian and then had Joel put me on the build list to build a GA model with this wood. At the time I went on the list it was out to 2012 but I asked Joel if he could ever get this done sooner becuase of cancellations or whatever that I would definitely like an earlier slot. So as it turns out some changes happened in Joels build schedule and I had first dibs on any earlier slots as I had given him a deposit many moons ago. And that's the back story that brings us to this build, which will be as follows:

Grand Auditorium 14 Fret
Wild EIR back and sides
Honduran Mahogany double sides
AAAA LS Redwood Top
Florentine cutaway
Fancy Shmancy Rosette(inspired by Michihiro Matsuda)
Koa Bindings
Ebony Fretboard with a half vine and leaves
EIR headplate and backplate
Mahogany 7 piece neck with maple/RW/maple/RW/maple center strip
Gold Gotoh 21:1 tuners

Here are some pics. CHECK OUT THE ROSETTE!!!!

Great stuff. I think this is by far the best solution for your wood set

Hope you will receive another winner after your myrtle.

Looking great. I especially like the fingerboard inlay scheme.

As usual, once Joel gets started he moves right along. He sent me these pics the past few days. I expect in the next week or so to start seeing some pictures of the back, which has some crazy figuring for EIR.

Wow Tom! That is going to be GORGEOUS! The back is insane. Joel is top notch with details.

Make sure you bring that by the shop when it's done

Rick

Congratulations! That looks like it's going to be an awesome guitar.

I had Bill Wise/Charis Acoustics build me a grand concert about 1-1/2 ago with some Wild Rosewood.
I think yours may have even more "figure" than mine has.
