Default Lost in The Tracks

Original song.
Recently bought Jeff Tweedy’s book How To Write One Song, which goes through a list of exercises on wait for it..how to write one song, here’s the result.

https://youtu.be/DKYVCKkNb0s

I’m a breathless train
running out of steam,
hope just a memory
that turned these wheels,
all destinations
incomplete,
lost in the tracks
disappeared,

An engine made up
of sinew and smoke,
pushed and shoved
rattled and rolled,
run from all my ghosts
hide in fear,
lost in the tracks
disappeared.

The clouds rolled by
heading home,
stayed for a year
then were gone,
flooded my heart
with their tears,
lost in the tracks
disappeared.

End of the line
out somewhere,
she listens for
a whistle clear,
but I’m all out
of steam,
lost in the tracks
dissapeared
