Xavier Jara- Bogdanovic Sonata No. 3
I am not sure about the piece, but am impressed and sometimes moved by
this young guy's playing (in an unforgiving acoustic): https://hooktube.com/watch?v=PpXlavVZJSU Last edited by Carey; 12-23-2018 at 07:32 PM. |

I saw him play it at the GFA last year--I like the piece as well as his playing.

Yeah, after making the original post I bought his CD, and now agree on both counts. Raphael Feuillatre is another one I now have my eyes on.
Edit: I see now that they both studied with Judicael Perroy, which is interesting. Last edited by Carey; 01-22-2019 at 05:54 PM. |

Perroy has quite a track record with competition-winning students. Luckily for us Californians, he now teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory and performs recitals on occasion.
