Hi, all, I play Flamenco.

I have:

Sanchis Blanco
Sanchis Negro
Takamine TC132SC configured as a Flamenco
Takamine TH-5C

All have their actions set up for Flamenco, and the Takamines have the CTP-2/Palathetic pickups installed (the best I have found to date... you can read about my struggles in the Electrified! section....

It does not have the volume of a classical (did I mention it is a cutaway and a mere 3.5" in depth) but what it lacks in volume, it makes up for in comfort. It is a very nice instrument to look at too. It comes with electronics which are sweet. michael s.
Sounds like you have a nice crossover. I can really only play the crossovers myself. Since was never a formal student of the classical technique, I can't handle the necks of true classicals. Post some pics of your Yamaha if you can. I would love to see it.

Michael, pics for sure. I'm really beginning to itch for an NTX 900FM

Hey gang,
I'll work on some pics of the NTX900FM a.s.a.p. In the meantime, Yamaha has a link to the NX series on their website. cheers, michael s.

I have a Kenny Hill 'Ruck' Model Classical, and a Kirk Sand Mahogany Nylon-Electric. The Sand is a hybrid type guitar wth a 1-7/8" nut, radiused fingerboard, and the neck joins the body at the 14th fret.

I play a few Chet tunes, a little Jerry Reed, a few John Knowles arrangements, and a few classical pieces.

Ps used to play on a Antonio Marin Montero before I switched to Conde:

Great person. Very lovable.

Also had a Manuel Lopez Bellido long time ago. It cracked once (front). Still dream a lot about my Conde's cracking. Real nightmares. I think I need therapy once for this, because it lasts already for 20+ years....

I still have an old Navarra Classical from 1970. Cheap guitar but has good sound. My main Nylon string however is a Godin Multiac Duet Grand Concert with cedar top. Traditional 2 inch nut and flat fingerboard mated with the Godin body, powered with the LR Baggs I Beam Duet system. It's a great hybrid.

My main nylon for over 20 years is this 1989 Ted Ramsay. It is very sweet tonally (but not a cannon), beautifully made with exceptionally nice wood (the top in particular), easy to play, and a joy to look at.

The stats are:

1. Western Red Cedar top
2. Indian Rosewood B/S
3. Honduran Mahogany neck, with rosewood heelcap
4. Ebony board (650mm scale)
5. Bubinga bridge
6. Rosewood binding with maple/bubinga purfling
7. Peghead faceplate and backplate in Indian rosewood with maple/bubinga purfling
8. Irving Sloane tuners
9. Rosette (made by Ted): Herringbone in bubinga and maple with outside/inside border of rosewood and ebony. Mother of pearl ring inlaid in the center
10. Pickup/preamp are LR Baggs
11. Your moniter is not wanky, I use D'Addario Titanium Trebles and they have a blue/purple tint to them.

Jimmy

My one and only nylon is a Carvin CL450. This is a thin bodied crossover type that sounds great to me.

Default Strat replica

You don't hear about it in the typical free music downloads world but, Turns out they make acoustic stratocasters as well.

I love it!!!

About 6 months ago, I bought an inexpensive Yamaha classical just to see if I would enjoy playing it for the different feel, enjoy the tone and possibly want a better one later down the road. All that I hoped for has happened and something in a much higher end nylon string guitar is definitely in my future.

Contrary to what the purist suggests, I do strum mine occasionally with a pick and find the shorter sustain to be easier to record with. Punching in over a strummed nylon string guitar is much easier than cutting off the longer sustain of a steel string box.
