Default Gefell Generation 4

Gefell has released a new series of modular microphones. These have miniature bodies and a variety of small diameter capsules. The frequency response of the capsules seem to replicate some of their other mic offerings; they are not the more typical flat frequency responses such as Schoeps Colette line. I'm curious how they will be received.

Yes, I agree! My M300 pair sounds lovely, even after purchasing a pair of Scheops cmc641’s. I certainly prefer the Scheops, but the difference isn’t huge. The Gefells are built like little tanks.

The UMT70s & MT71s are workhorse mics. Better than the Neumann u87Ai IMHO....and less than half the price.

I have a desire for the UM 92.1s multi pattern.

Truth be told, I also have a desire for a Josephson C705.

If you like a C12, the UM92.1 will make you happy...it's the same general vibe.

I keep hearing about Josephson, but have yet to get a chance to try one. None of the studios I've worked at seem to have them.

Hey Steve, ya, Josephson mics are amazing! The C705 is a kind of an unknown mic, which came out about the same time we entered the pandemic. Not a lot of user info out there about them, however all reviews are very positive.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to look them up, not that i can afford any right now. I love my M300 pair, glad to hear they are still innovating.
