I placed the artists mentioned in this thread as seeds in a Pandora station.

Lots of good music coming out of that station, but the mix can be slightly jarring. If you want to check it out, my Pandora name is "jwing111"; the station name is "AGF acoustic favorites summer 2012."

Contemporary Americana fans might enjoy my favorite Pandora stations: "Cumberland Gap Radio" and "The Duhks Radio."

Default Hey, Who's your favorite acoustic band?

The Steeldrivers
Big Country Bluegrass band

Just about any good bluegrass band.

I'm going to put in a mention for Jim Kweskin's Jug Band (early/mid 60s), and the Even Dozen Jug Band (mid 60s). My first influences! (led me back to the Memphis Jug Band and other earlier, better stuff of course).
The EDJB (there were literally 12 of them) included Stefan Grossman, John Sebastian, Maria Muldaur (then D'Amato), Dave Grisman, Steve Katz and Josh Rifkin - but Kweskin's lot were better.

Kweskin had Geoff Muldaur as 2nd vocalist, of whom Richard Thompson memorably said: "There are only three white blues singers, and Geoff Muldaur is at least two of them".
