Tim, the photo does this LP no justice at all. The color is so deep you would think you could dip your fingers in it.

Agreed. Great to see so much love for one of the finest electric guitars out there. A good Les Paul is something else eh?

Here’s my 1972 Les Paul Custom that I got in 1974. That’s a 1972 ES-175 next to the LP. I started playing in ‘72 so I like guitars from that year.

Yes it is a very nice guitar. I have actually taken and am now down to 2 electrics now since I sold my SG the other day. After a little longer, I believe I will sell my other electric and just be down to one electric which will be my les paul. It was that was for loke 22 years with me and my first LP custom. I had no other guitar but that one and never even looked at another guitar. I did not know what I had and sold it. It was an 81 custom I paid 475.00 for back in 1991. I was a kid when i bought it and I sold it right before things started to take off with the vintage guitar market. heck I could have gotten over $3000.00 for it today if I had kept it. But you live and learn. So I have had acouple of more les pauls too but not another custom until earlier this year when I bought the one I picture in this thread I started. I am keeping this one and the others have to go now. i will be down to it, my Taylor and a bass. |

Great story and a beautiful Les Paul. Do you know how many have been produced? I couldn't find anything definitive but looks like under 100.
