Haven't had a beer yet....but I'm trying this strap

THE Lock-It LIS 013 C2-BLK Guitar Strap - Cotton Black

The company says it will fit over the input/peg over the back and then you can clamp down and secure it.

Anyone try these?

I use a Lock-it strap on my Martin D15 that has an Anthem SL end pin. It's very secure and fits over even the end pin. I use Schaller strap locks on all my electrics for going on 20 years now - never an incident.

Default strapkeepers

If you really want them to stay on, I think screws work better than nails or staples. And I wouldn't trust glue at all.

Now, if you ever want to take them off again... that's a different story....

Default Strapkeeper doesn't fit

Just a FYI to anyone searching for a solution for the Epiphone DR500MCE, don't waste your money and hopes on the TapaString StapKeeper 2. I ordered it and it is too small for the endpin jack.

1. The strap holes are not large enough to slide all the way onto the endpin
2. The strap lock is to small and will not even slide into the groove.

Wish someone would have warned me. Now I am stuck with it and have absolutely no use for it... Ugh...

I think the problem may be that you ordered the Strapkeeper 2, which is made for smaller endpins. I use a regular Strapkeeper on my Rainsong and Halcyon, and it fits perfectly.

I also use the Planet Waves elliptical pins on the neck of my guitars (and as the end pin on my Eastman electric), and it keeps my straps very secure.

As pax238 said above you ordered the wrong ones.

I. have been using TapaStrings on multiple instruments for a few years now and they fit perfectly and work great. Highly recommended

I use these:

Basically a rubber washer. Works great.

I have the same Epiphone as you and use the strap jack when not plugged in and the 1/4" plug as a strap lock when electric. I'm somewhat animated when I play and can say I haven't had an issue with the strap jack. Hope that helps a little.

I use these as well and they work great for my LP. Good option if you don't to mess with strap locks. I only use them on the pin nearest the neck.

I had the same problem using Tapastring on 3 Taylor guitars. The locking clip did not have enough room to clip on to the end pin. I sew the slot on leather straps so that they barely open enough to attach. Never had one ever come off without a lot of effort. On the neck end I use black rubber washers.

Interesting resurrection from 2015. However, there is actually a current (2019) strap retention thread ongoing.
